He holds a Bachelor in Science Degree in Information Systems from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and two Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Project Management from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and Entrepenuership and New Business Develoment from FGV.
Dr Domenico Vicinanza is a Senior Research Engagement Officer and the Coordinator for Arts and Humanities at GÉANT. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. He received his PhD in physics working at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN, Geneva) and he is a professional music composer and orchestrator.
He worked for more than a decade as a Scientific Associate at CERN, where he was a member of the Offline Board for the ALICE experiment and worked on research and development for particle physics detectors.
He has an active collaboration with CERN, which commissioned an orchestral piece on scientific data, for their 60th anniversary and with NASA, writing music from data collected by the Voyager 1 and 2 space probes.

My name is Vladislav and I come from Czech Republic. I am a student of Brno University of Technology and I also work for CESNET company which is the NREN for Czech Republic. Added to that, I am doing my traineeship at Heidelberg University. Therefore, my study/work life could be described both as exciting and complicated. Outside of that, I spend my time talking with friends, dancing, playing piano or reading. Occasional jogging or a visit of a concert is not an exception.
My project on both the NREN and my traineeship revolve around PCI Express. This is a high-throughput interface allowing to connect peripherals to the computer. I am currently developing a design for a FPGA card allowing to easily interact with the communication protocol of the PCI Express. The FPGAs in those days provide extensive versatility of applications which they can offload from the host CPU like database query acceleration, arithmetics or packet filtering.
Maja Vreča has been working at ARNES since 1995. She was Head of User Support for many years, but in recent years, she specialised in issues concerning safer internet use. In her role
as an associate at the Slovenian Safer Internet Awareness Node, she lectures to a wide range of
audiences: from people with special needs to general public, from primary school pupils to parents and teachers, from students to researchers. During the last eight years, she has been preparing a MOOC on safe internet use, the biggest MOOC in Slovenian language. She also prepared a MOOC on the safe internet use for children and a MOOC for teens. She writes columns and articles and regularly presents the issue in Slovenian media. Maja is a member of an expert group that prepared national guidelines for the screen use in children and teens.
I started working for the Italian Research and Education Network (GARR) in 2003 after a PhD in Physics and several years as researcher in High Energy Physics experiments at CERN and SLAC. In GARR, at first I designed and developed the network Information System. Then, when GARR implemented its first DWDM network, I joined the optical network design team, actively working on the design and implementation of GARR-X, GARR-X Progress, on the introduction of alien wavelengths technique and, lately, on the design of the new optical transport network of the GARR-T project and its evolution.
SURF - Emerging Technology Advisor
I currently work on projects for SURF XR Team and Futuring. I'm interested on the more social-side of technologies, such as ethics and their mediating role in our educational/research practices.
Tim has shown an interest in Information Security since his early years. First as an Ethical Hacker and Information Security Consultant and later as a teacher at a local University of Applied Sciences where he setup a Cyber Security program. He currently holds the position of Senior Information Security officer at GÉANT.
